About South Essex Community Council

In 1973, a group of concerned citizens had a vision to create a community sponsored agency that would address the various needs of the people of South Essex. The vision and efforts of two individuals mobilized the communities of South Essex to create the South Essex Community Council.

SECC Honours Outstanding Staff

  The SECC Board of Directors is proud to announce its first ever SECC Annual Staff Recognition Awards. The Board felt it was important to recognize staff who exemplify the organization’s mission, vision and values in their everyday work. Awards were given out for Commitment to Excellence in Service, Education, Compassion and Collaboration, as well as Outstanding Leadership and Loyal Dedication to the Mission. Welcoming Communities Research Report Released

SECC partnered with the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County, the University of Windsor and the Windsor-Essex Local Immigration Partnership to conduct research regarding the welcoming capacity of Windsor-Essex. The research examined 6 benchmarks identified as facets of a welcoming community for newcomers and immigrants in previous research. Click Here to view the previous research.
