March for Meals!

Throughout the month of March we recognize and find ways to support the incredible contributions of Meals on Wheels programs throughout Ontario.

March for Meals is an Ontario initiative designed to help raise awareness and increase community engagement with Meals on Wheels Programs across the province.

What is Meals on Wheels?

Meals on Wheels is a partially government subsidized program designed to help people get access to quality, nutritious and affordable food delivered to their home.

Who Uses Meals on Wheels?

Anyone and everyone may need support from Meals on Wheels at some point in their life. This includes people recovering from surgery or injury, those who cannot cook for themselves due to illness or disability, those who cannot get out of the home to purchase meals or the ingredients to cook them, and those who simply need or want a little support with meal preparation each week.

How can I help?

Meals on Wheels programs, including the one at SECC rely on volunteers and generous donors to help fund the programs and deliver meals to individuals in need. When thinking about how to get involved consider donating or volunteering to deliver meals on a regular basis or to help with fundraising events.

SECC delivers an average of 160 meals per week! This program would not be possible without the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
