High School to Community Supports Transition Program

High School to Community Supports Transition Program

In collaboration with our local high schools, SECC helps over-age newcomer students with transitioning from the secondary school system to various community supports that help them identify and achieve their personal, academic and career goals as they enter adulthood. Participants complete a comprehensive needs and assets assessment and develop a customized plan of action. Individualized support services may include, but are not limited to, job readiness training, work placement and coaching, language training, GED assistance, career exploration, and referrals for social assistance and housing. Participants will also have an opportunity to join in organized social and recreational events, as well as volunteering in their community.
