Tuesday Evening Workshops – February 2017
Beginning in January, SECC expanded services by offering evening workshops on Tuesday evenings. Workshops are free, but participants must register in advance as space is limited. To register for any of the workshops, please call 519-326-8629.
Workshops will change monthly so please check back often for the next months’ schedule.
February 7th: Computer Basics – 5:30 pm – 7 pm
Computer Basics Workshop
This workshop is designed to cover the essentials skills needed to navigate the computer system. Foundational principles such as keyboard and mouse use, computer components, browsing the internet, methods of computer shortcuts and understanding and navigating operating systems will all be covered in this 1.5 hour “beginners” workshop
Please note: This class is for beginners and a screener will be used to assess your level for this course
February 14th: Managing Anxiety in the Workplace – 5:30 pm – 7 pm
Managing Anxiety in the Workplace Workshop
The workplace is one of the leading locations where people experience stress and anxiety. Every employee will encounter it sometime during their career. Everyone should be aware of the signs of anxiety and the tools needed to cope and deal with it.
Our Managing Workplace Anxiety workshop will provide your participants the important skills and resources to recognize and manage workplace anxiety. By identifying these symptoms and coping skills employees and managers will be better suited in dealing with these common situations. Through this workshop your participants will be better suited to the challenges that the workplace can bring.

Strong Assessment Workshop
The Strong Interest Inventory is one of the world’s most widely respected and frequently used career planning tools. It has guided thousands of individuals, from high school and college students to mid-career workers seeking a change, in their search for a rich and fulfilling career. Clients taking the Strong will discover their personality theme code, basic interest areas, best-fit jobs, and personal styles of working and learning.
