Foot Care Clinic
Provides
seniors and persons with disabilities with professional and affordable foot care
treatments to enhance mobility and a healthy lifestyle.
The Foot Care
Clinic is staffed by registered practical nurses who provide treatment of minor
foot problems such as corns and calluses, cutting of toenails, massage to
improve circulation and padding to reduce pressure.
When more serious
problems or health issues are detected, the nurse can provide a referral to
other appropriate professional services. The Foot Care Clinic is open Monday
thru Thursday and an appointment is necessary. When a waiting list exists, the
nurse determines eligibility for service based on the patient's date of
application, needs and pre-existing health conditions.
Eligibility
Foot Care Clinic services are available to persons who are
residents of Leamington, Kingsville or Wheatley
and are:
- A senior; or
- An adult age 55+ living with diabetes, poor circulation or other medical
conditions which necessitates regular professional foot care services; or
- An adult age 18+ who is unable to provide proper foot care for themselves
because of a developmental or physical disability
Cost
The cost of foot care services is $20.00 per visit. The cost for
amputees will be assessed prior to service. Persons served pay directly for
services at the time they are performed.
Hours of Operation
The Foot Care Clinic is open Monday thru Friday, 8:30
a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location
The Foot Care Clinic is located in Room #104 at the Sun Parlor
Home for Seniors, 175 Talbot Street East in Leamington.
Waiting List
Professional foot care services are in high demand and from
time to time there is a waiting list for services. Acceptance and scheduling of
new patients will be considered on the following criteria:
- Date of application
- Urgency and/or pre-existing medical condition and/or disability
- Age
